RUMOURS are flying around that Kylie Minogue could be set to headline Brighton Pride Festival in 2019.

The Australian pop-sensation, best known for her chart topping hits like Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and I Should Be So Lucky, will return to touring next summer.

She has announced a string of outdoor shows for mid-2019.

Kylie has revealed seven open-air concerts, starting in June with two nights at London’s Hampton Court Palace, and so far culminating on August 1 at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

However the pop star has confirmed that more dates may follow shortly.

This has fired up speculation that the In Your Eyes singer could be announced as the headline act for next year’s Brighton Pride.

Pride 2019 takes place on August 3, just two days after Kylie’s last confirmed tour date so far in Scarborough.

With more shows on the horizon, people have begun to question whether the former former Neighbours star will be the one to take to the big stage in Preston Park to close out day one of the LGBT festival.

Twitter user @wombatclaws said: “So Kylie’s playing the Scarborough Open Air Theatre two days before Brighton Pride, eh...”

A statement from Brighton Pride said: “There is lots of speculation about various artists going around at the moment but we are not planning to make any announcements until February at the earliest.”

If Kylie does headline Brighton Pride she will follow in the footsteps of fellow queen of pop Britney Spears.

The “Opps...I Did It Again.” singer sparked frenzied reactions on social media last year when she was announced as the headliner for Brighton Pride 2018.

Tickets sold out almost instantly, with the Pride website crashing under the sheer weight of traffic it was receiving.

The hype was well justified as Britney drew a record crowd of more than 50,000 people to Preston Park as she performed her famed Piece Of Me show.

It wasn’t without controversy however, as Britney appeared to slip up during her set, forgetting the city she was performing to.

Fans reported hearing Britney shout at one of her back-up dancers, asking where they were, before shouting ‘What’s up Brighton Pride!” to the crowd.

The moment went viral on social media with some slating the pop star, while others defended her mistake.

Brighton Pride 2019 takes place between August 3 and 4 next year and is sure to be as popular as ever.
