CHARITY bosses have praised the public and volunteers after Remembrance Sunday services marked the centenary of the end of the First World War.
The Royal British Legion (RBL) organised ceremonies in Brighton and Hove and across Sussex as part of the commemoration.
There was also a Thank You campaign for the First World War generation and the sacrifices they made.
RBL area manager Jim France said: “It has been wonderful to see such incredible public support for Remembrance across Sussex this year.
“The ceremonies were a reminder that Remembrance is as much a part of people’s lives as it has ever been, and were a fitting tribute to those who served, sacrificed, and changed our world.”
Last year’s Poppy Appeal raised more than £1.4 million in Sussex. Visit: www.britishlegion.org.uk to donate.
