A man has been rescued following a fire at a flat in Worthing.
The fire service were called to reports of a building on fire in Warwick Gardens, Worthing at 11:05pm, last night.
Fire fighters on the scene said they were called becuase of a room on fire, and a man was rescued.
Another woman also suffered from smoke inhalation, according to a spokesman for the fire service.
The building was cleared of smoke and the crew left the scene at around 2am, today.
The fire service confirmed a ground floor bedroom was "substantially damanged".
Richard Airey of South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "The fire service called us to attend the scene.
"Initially we had two patients to treat but one of them declined hospital treatment.
"The other, a woman, was taken to hosptial for checks for suspected smoke inhalation."
