A STOURBRIDGE park play area is to be improved to the tune of £10k following a successful bid for cash from Dudley Council's community forum by The Friends of Greenfield Gardens.
The gardens will be resurfaced around the toddler play units using £5,000 of community forum funding and £5,700 of Section 106 money.
Work is expected to start early in the new year and the Friends group has pledged to work with the council to help maintain the new surface in the future.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley's cabinet member for environmental services, said: "Section 106 money, which comes from developers who are undertaking work in the borough, enables us to make improvements and investment in the local area and I am delighted that this work has been approved.
"I would like to thank the Friends group at Greenfield and the many other volunteers across the borough who help us to keep Dudley borough clean and green.”
