TODAY The Argus launches a special Christmas campaign to spread some festive cheer.

We have teamed up with OneFamily, a financial services provider based in Brighton, to give away £6,000 to 12 good causes across Sussex in the run-up to Christmas.

We want to hear from schools, groups and charities how they would each spend £500 in December

OneFamily chief executive Simon Markey said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Argus on this project.

“We are looking to hear from community groups or individuals who may have a special reason why some of the money should go to them.

“We want to unearth those good causes that don’t always get celebrated and find groups and individuals who have gone above and beyond in the local areas

“It may be a school that needs funds for a Christmas activity for the pupils.

“Or it may be a charity or community group that needs some extra funds in the run-up to the festive season.”

It is very easy to apply for the money.

Simply send an email to arguschristmaswish@onefamily.com answering the following questions:

1) What is the name of the group or individual and tell us what they do to improve the community (in 50 words).

2) Give us an example of what they have done to benefit the community and why they should be awarded a Christmas wish (50 words).

3) If they were to be successful, how would the £500 be spent? (50 words).

Argus editor Arron Hendy said: “I am absolutely delighted to be working with OneFamily at Christmas.

“This campaign is targeted at helping people who need it most and I am determined that we will establish some brilliant causes to give the money to.

“We will be sitting down in three weeks’ time looking through all the applications and deciding which ones we should back.

“I really hope that we receive loads of requests and that we are able to help as many as we can.

“Initially, we are looking to give away £500 each to 12 different good causes.

“OneFamily is providing all the funding which is absolutely amazing, and I thank them very dearly for their support.

“Now it’s over to you.

“Get applying, we can’t wait to hear from you.

“The deadline is Monday, November 26 and we want to hear from you now.”

The full and final decision on who is awarded the money will be with OneFamily and the project is being run, administered and organised by OneFamily.
