PEOPLE across Sussex are coming out in droves to support this year’s Children in Need charity appeal.

The annual extravaganza, hosted on the BBC, will include live performances, pre-recorded sketches and other entertainment segments, to encourage viewers to get involved and donate to the cause.

Children in Need has been going on for the best part of the last four decades and has remarkably raised up to £970 million for the kids who need it most.

The telethon is hoping to yet again break the record for cash raised, having seen a record-breaking £60.7 million donated last year.

There are a number of local people across Sussex getting involved with Children in Need this year, whether it be cake sales or non-uniform and crazy hair days. One restaurant in Brighton is even donating all of their proceeds to the cause today.

If you are getting involved, we would love for you to send your photos in to picture.desk@theargus.co.uk, or let us know what you are doing for the event in the comments section below.
