THIS weekend is your last chance to see the snails.

The Snailspace trail in Brighton and Hove comes to an end tomorrow when the models will be taken away.

The 50 snails, sponsored by the likes of Fat Boy Slim and raising money for the Martlets hospice, have been delighting visitors and residents since they were installed in September.

During their last week dancers brought attention to the snails, wearing headphones for a silent disco.

They began at the Disco Snail outside Churchill Square. Staff from Austin Rees Managing Agents and RT Williams Insurance Brokers then boogied their way through The Lanes and down to the Royal Pavilion.

They entertained – and baffled – passersby, collecting donations for the Martlets along the way.

Angela Bickett, senior property manager at Austin Rees, said: “It was so much fun. Far more enjoyable than a normal disco, for some reason it felt less awkward.

“You’re in your own music bubble yet part of a big party. I’m sure we all looked mad but we didn’t mind. It was all for a good cause.

“We even had people joining our party along the way.”

Andrew Austin, director of Austin Rees, said: “It was great to see the people of Brighton and Hove embracing the Snailspace campaign.

“Martlets is an incredibly worthy cause.”
