ONCE more The Argus has revealed further delays from Crest Nicholson in respect of their intended development by the King Alfred leisure centre on Hove seafront.
Personally I object to the 18 Storey " Margate Towers" but, I believe the developer may be stalling owing to concerns over Brexit ?
In any event if one party turns around and states for example: " We are no longer sure the agreement on the quantity of affordable homes is viable" , then there is no longer a firm contract/promise to deliver.
Here the developer is in fact making a counter offer, so in my view , the project should go out to tender again .
After all taxpayers will recall that Hove residents were excluded from the planning process .
There was no choice , no transparency . Let's find another developer who will be happy with fewer storeys.
