THE Kemptown Carnival has announced a new partnership ahead of its 2019 return.

Brighton’s largest free community arts street festival, which attracts more than 30,000 people a year, will partner with the Brighton Palace Pier for next year’s event.

The Kemptown Carnival Community Interest Company held its first public meeting at the end of October.

With the support of the Palace Pier, the organisers of the Kemptown Carnival hope to remain part of the Brighton and Hove calendar for years to come.

Carnival event director Mat Cook said: “We have some great people leading the new Carnival organisation who have been working very hard to see the event return next year.

“With our new Palace Pier partnership and the wonderful offers of support we have received from across the city, the Kemptown Carnival is looking in great shape.

“It’s a privilege to work on an event which showcases and supports so many of Brighton’s talented musicians, artists, educators and community groups and I very much look forward to helping create a wonderful Carnival for 2019 and beyond.”

Brighton Palace Pier CO Anne Ackord added: “We are delighted to partner The Kemptown Carnival which we believe is a fantastic event for the local community and further adds to the reputation of the city as a leading artistic destination.”

Taking place across Kemptown Village, the Carnival is always jam-packed with live music, local traders and fairground rides.

More dates and line-ups for the Kemptown Carnival are soon to be announced, organisers said.
