A driver has been injured after a crash on the A27.
Police were called to the westbound dual carriageway at the Ashcombe roundabout at Kingston outside Lewes at 6.10am.
A motorist is believed to have crashed into the central reservation, and has been taken to hospital in Brighton.
It is understood two cars crashed, and Highways England said there have been long delays.
The authority is reported delays for motorists as far back as Polegate, and police were called.
Earlier, on the other side, a car overturned, but this incident was cleared before the second accident.

It follows overnight snow showers in parts of Brighton, which has brought icy conditions on the roads.

Motorists were warned that delays on the westbound carriageway were expected to continue until 8.30am.
Sussex Traffic Watch reported that it took motorists an hour to pass the incident in the direction of Brighton this morning.
