THE owner of a disembowelled cat has written an open letter to the person who attacked her pet with a knife.

Seanin Mouland, 33, a teacher from Ditchling Rise, Brighton, said:

“I know you are out there and you can see how much huge love is pouring in from this community.

“You are seeing hate pouring in for you and it’s only confirming why you should carry on.

“I want you to know that I hold no hate in my heart for you.

“I am focusing only on my furry boy, and his innocence and courage through two major operations, and in how amazing he’s being, despite such intense pain.

“He’s pretty shy. He hides. He’s scared of the world except when we are around him.

“I’m sure you know somewhere how that feels.

“Drips were coming out of him from what seemed like every place yesterday, he was meowing and confused, and all I could think about was this...

“Nobody ever helped you, did they. No one ever forgave you for the mistakes they felt you made either.

“To the person who stabbed my tiny, three-year-old best friend – I forgive you. I forgive you because you do not forgive yourself, and you do not know the choice you have here.

“And you do have a choice.

“You might see the hurt that’s been caused, and realise that people, all the people, have love in their hearts.

“You might discover you have love in your heart too.

“Hand yourself in.”
