A fundraising page has been set up to help the family of a teenager who suffered a serious brain injury after he was hit by a car.
Spike, 16, is a student from Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College (Bhasvic) in Dyke Road, Hove.
On Thursday morning, he was hit by a grey Vauxhall Astra in Preston Drove, Brighton.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
He remains in an induced coma in the neuro intensive care unit.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to support the teenager's recovery.
It reads: "We want to support his family as they all stay at Southampton with Spike.
"We don’t want them to have to worry about money at this time when they can’t work.
"They may choose eventually to donate the money to the hospital or a relevant charity.
"Spike is the loveliest gentlest boy, a talented actor and musician who is the centre of a huge friend group and deeply loved by all.
"Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received."
