GATECRASHERS threw bottles and set off fire extinguishers to disrupt a 17th birthday party.
About 200 people were at the celebration in Rottingdean Scout Hut in Whiteway Lane on Friday night, right.
However the party was interrupted when a group of people who could not get in started to throw empty glass bottles and set off fire extinguishers.
Police arrived at the scene at about 9pm to resolve the incident before it escalated.
Officers were unable to confirm whether anyone was hurt as a result of the disruption or the number of people causing trouble.
