IT IS the start of the month and time to announce the winner of our monthly camera club photo competition.

Here at The Argus we normally ask for photographs on a theme but with the nights drawing in we decided to let our growing number of members choose whatever they like.

It paid off too.

The range of subjects and styles has been fantastic again, meaning it was really difficult to decide on the £50 winner.

It was a really tough choice but our picture editor Allan Hutchings chose Lloyd Lane’s picture of the clock tower in North Street.

He said: It’s a difficult thing to shoot and get right.

“I like the contrast between the moving lights on the vehicle and the spotlights on the Christmas decorations.

“They are all particularly good this month though.

“We had a fantastic range of pictures.”

The subject for December is “Christmas”.

So grab a phone or a camera and get clicking away.

You can get more great pictures of lights like this month’s winner. Or maybe you can capture the joy of somebody enjoying a special moment, like carol singing. The deadline for this month’s competition is December 27.

Winners of the monthly camera club picture competition can claim a £50 prize. There is no specific theme for this month’s competition. The Argus Camera Club is for all amateur photographers who want to share their pictures of Brighton, Hove and the rest of Sussex.

As the community continues to build, we hope members will share tips and advice, join our projects and enter competitions.

By posting in the group, you consent to The Argus using the photos in our publications, websites and social media channels.

We ask you only to post images for which you have copyright.
