THIS is the moment Crystal Palace fans had to be escorted from Brighton station by dozens of police officers this evening.

Some of the travelling supporters, many wearing hoods, can be seen shouting and raising their arms as police on horseback follow them down the street.

They were arriving from London ahead of tonight's Premier League derby game at the Amex.

Earlier today police announced there would be beefed up security in the city ahead of kick-off at 7.45pm.

The Argus:

It comes after violent clashes marred the fixture last season, leading to six arrests.

Sussex police were forced to apologise last November after falsely claiming Palace supporters had been found with knives and knuckle-dusters.
