A PUB chain is to open its first hotel next spring.

Brewhouse and Kitchen has bought the three star Beechwood Hall in Wykeham Road, Worthing.

It already runs 22 pubs but it says it will keep this site as a hotel.

It has pledged to restore the site to its former glory.

Simon Bunn, co-founder of Brewhouse and Kitchen, said: “We are immensely excited to bring our first hotel to the beautiful seaside town of Worthing.

“Brewhouse and Kitchen sites have always acted as community hubs and this new venture will bring together both local residents and tourists in a way that we have never done before.

“We are conscious of the historical importance of this new acquisition and will do everything in our power to refurbish this site respectfully, maintaining the key features that give this location its character while ensuring the new hotel and brew pub is a wonderful destination to eat, drink and stay.

“This new site is a landmark moment in Brewhouse and Kitchen’s journey and we are confident that the experiential value of our brewing masterclasses and beer tasting sessions will make this new format a success.

“Our carefully laid out refurbishment plans are designed to respect the existing architecture, while giving the building a new lease of life.

“Without our intervention, the building would likely have become derelict.”

There will be ten double bedrooms and space for more than 400 guests for functions.

The new hotel and brew pub will create 35 new jobs.

The transaction was brokered by Nick Earee of Fleurets.

He said: “Beechwood Hall, situated on Wykeham Road in Worthing, previously traded as a hotel, restaurant and bar, offering eight en suite letting bedrooms as well as a bar/restaurant with 80 covers and also a breakfast/meeting room.”

The new hotel and brew pub will open in the spring.

In April 2010, operators Paul and Rose Willey purchased the freehold and commissioned an extensive refurbishment.

Mr Bunn added: “We place our hotel staying guests at the heart of our service.

“Our hotel is renowned as one of the finest available in the Worthing area.

“Whether you are alone or staying with family or friends, we will look after you every minute of your stay.

“Complimentary wi-fi, en-suite rooms and dining/ bar facilities are available throughout the day.

“You will be pleased you visited Beechwood Hall Hotel.

The hotel was closed and was put on the market at the start of 2018.
