IMAGINE your life being like a box of chocolates when you know EXACTLY which one you’ll get.

That was the idea of one woman from Southwick who has separated more than 20 tubs of Quality Street according to the sweets inside.

In a picture posted on the Shoreham and Southwick Buying and Selling page on Facebook, the confectionary is available for people to buy an entire box of their favourite.

In her post she wrote: “All your favourites in one tin for £7.50.” She said she won’t be delivering the tins, and said the chocolates are available on a “first come, first served” basis.

Usually, the tins contain 12 different types, including the Purple One, Toffee Deluxe, and Strawberry Delights.

Of the 28 tins, it shows that some varieties would fill three tins, while other varieties would only fill one.

Last week, Mirror Online revealed that there are on average just five Purple Ones per tin, which contain hazelnut in caramel.

That compares to an average of ten Strawberry Creams per tin, despite the fact that Purple Ones tend to be customer’s favourites, according to research.

Which? magazine did a consumer survey of 1,000 adults, and editor Harry Rose said: "It's not your family's fault that your favourite flavours disappear so quickly, there really are too few Purple Ones."

Research suggests that the odds are always against you when buying chocolates this Christmas, as tubs contain fewer of the favourites and more of the ones no one ever seems to want.

It was a similar story for Cadbury's Roses and Celebrations tins, the research found.

Nestle manufactures Quality Street, and said it divides its selection into fruit creams, chocolates, and caramel or fudge, with each category making up a third of the total.

The company said: "That's why you get more of the Strawberry Delights, which is one of only two fruit creams. We've increased the number of people's favourites in this year's assortment."

The Southwick tins reveal that perhaps this policy is now bearing fruit, as out of 28 tins there there enough to fill three tins with Strawberry Delights, Toffee Fingers, Toffee Deluxe, and Orange Creams.

There were enough sweets to fill two tubs with Green Triangles, Milk Choc Blocks, Coconut Eclairs, Toffee Pennies, Caramel Swirls, Purple Ones, and Vanilla Fudge.

The least common sweets were Orange Crunches, which only filled one of the 28 tins.
