TWO burglars raided a convenience store in the early hours of this morning and stole cash.

CCTV shows two people breaking in to the Tesco Express in West Way, Hove at 12.30am

The alarm was raised at the store and the fire service was alerted as a fogging device was activated during the burglary.

They escaped with cash from tills inside that had been forced open.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The first is described as about 5’ 8”, slim and was wearing a dark-coloured zip up hooded jacket, dark-coloured jogging bottoms lighter than the jacket, black trainers and dark-coloured motorcycle helmet gloves.

The second is about 5’ 8”, slim, wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark-coloured jogging bottoms, black and white Adidas trainers (black outer, white laces and white sole with white label on heel).

They also wore a dark-coloured motorcycle helmet.

Police said both burglars appeared to be white.

A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating a burglary at a Tesco Express in Hove.

“The alarm was raised at the store in West Way at 12.30am on Monday (December 10) and the fire service was alerted as a fogging device was also activated.

“CCTV shows two people forcing entry to the store. The first is described as about 5’ 8”, of slim build wearing a dark-coloured zip up hooded jacket, dark-coloured jogging bottoms lighter than the jacket, black trainers and dark-coloured motorcycle helmet gloves.

“The second is also about 5’ 8”, of slim build, wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark-coloured jogging bottoms, black and white Adidas trainers (black outer, white laces and white sole with white label on heel).

“They also wore a dark-coloured motorcycle helmet.

“Both appear to be white. They escaped with cash from tills forced open inside.

“Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area in the time leading up to the incident or who has any other information about it is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 31 of 10/12.”
