BREAKFAST TV host Piers Morgan launched an astonishing attack on vegans during ITV’s Good Morning Britain show.

The Sussex-born presenter blasted vegan group Brighton Direction Action Everywhere (DxE Brighton) for protesting on Sunday at a Waitrose supermarket in Western Road, Brighton, and attempting to stop people buying turkeys.

The 53-year-old slammed the group for “terrorising” old women and even challenged them to hold a demonstration outside his house.

Mr Morgan said: “Brighton is the home of the mad vegans. Here’s my message; don’t terrorise old women shopping for Christmas.

“You want to come to protest, come to my house with your little placards and start screaming at me and see how long you get on before I bring meat into the game. I am ready for you.”

DxE Brighton has previously made headlines for storming the meat aisle at Tesco in Church Road in Hove in October, where 30 activists blocked the aisle in a silent protest.

Last month they went to the Touro steakhouse in West Street in Brighton, where they played noises of animals screaming in front of bewildered diners.

Mr Morgan claimed the group acted “violently” for blocking the meat aisle in Waitrose, and accused them of “killing off” insects by eating bread.

He said: “They want everyone to be like them, it’s a bit like the severe Brexiteers, the anti-Trump brigade and the radical pro-Trump people.

“They (vegans) want everyone to be like them and if you’re not you must be exterminated. They love exterminating plants, insects.

"We know billions of insects get murdered every year in preparation of vegan food and bread. Do you ever see these people marching down a bread aisle? Do you know why? Because they eat bread so they are hypocrites.

“Billions of insects get killed. Those lovely little cuddly things that buzz around you all day and they are getting slaughtered so that you can eat bread. But no protest there because if you did, you’ll starve to death.”

He concluded his rant with “Brighton’s gone nuts”.
