A major road was closed after a crash that left a vehicle flipped over on its side.
Police and paramedics were called to the A26 between Newhaven and Lewes after 6.20am this morning.
The crash happened between a car and a van at Southease, near the junction with South Downs Way.
But the motorists involved are understood to have only suffered minor injuries, and were treated at the scene.
The ambulance service said they did not require hospital treatment.
Police officers closed the road in both directions and there were delays while the scene was cleared.
The road then reopened at 8.40am.
Anyone who saw what happened is asked to report information to Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote 211 of 21/12.
