The poster, which has been widely criticised as “discriminatory” online said: “Due to the hunt today, we regret to inform you that we will not be welcoming saboteurs or vegans into the premises.

“Kind regards, The Management.”

The Argus visited the pub this morning and found a new poster has been put in the window apologising for the offence caused.

In a new poster, the pub’s management apologise for the one put up yesterday, calling it “inaccurate, insensitive and inappropriate”.

It adds that the staff involved in putting up the poster would be “disciplined”.
