AS THE Christmas period comes to an end you may wondering what to do with the tree in the front room.

Christmas tree recycling sites across Brighton and Hove will be open until January 11.

Each tree collected will be turned into soil improver or compost in an attempt to prevent more waste heading to landfill.

In Brighton you can recycle your trees in Upper Bevendean Avenue, Coldean Lane opposite Park Road, Dyke Road Avenue near Hazeldene Meads, in the car park in East Brighton Park, the north entrance of Hollingbury Park, on the junction of Ladies Mile Road and Mackie Avenue, the north entrance of Preston Park, The Level, or on the junction of Upper Bedford Street and Hampshire Court.

In Hove, sites are at the seafront end of Adelaide Crescent, the Park Rise entrance to Hangleton Park, in Orchard Road near Nizells Avenue, and the north east corner of Wish Park.

In Portslade, go to the Millcross entrance to Easthill Park and the west side car park of Victoria Recreation Ground.

You can also recycle your tree in the car park of Saltdean lido and in Central park, Woodingdean.

The sites are for real Christmas trees only. Any fake trees or other waste items can be taken to the recycling centres for recycling or safe disposal.
