A PASSER-BY may have seen a fracas outside a pub that left a man with a broken wrist and dislocated elbow.

Police are investigating the violence outside the Mash Tun pub in Church Street in Brighton in September, and have released a CCTV image of a woman who may have witnessed it.

Officers were called at 12.30am on September 13, and a 27-year-old man suffered the dislocated elbow and broken wrist, while a 23-year-old man who was with him was bruised.

A 30-year-old man from Goring was interviewed under caution by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Detective Constable Simon Rideout said; "Our enquiries are continuing and we are especially interested in talking to this woman who is seen watching the incident. She was dressed in black and was carrying a white shopping bag.”

The detective said the woman should come forward, and also appealed for any other potential witnesses to come forward. Information can be reported on the Sussex Police website or by calling 101 and quoting reference number 30 of 13/09.
