A photographer and a string of eminent lawyers are among 700 new entries in the 2019 edition of Who’s Who.

Inclusion in the reference book, which contains more than 34,000 autobiographical entries of leading figures in all walks of life, is by invitation only, so inclusion is an honour.

New entries who either live in Brighton or were born in the city include:

Photographer Mark Power, 59, who lives in Ditchling Road.

Colonel Jane Davis, 63, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, who was educated at the former Fitzherbert Roman Catholic School in Woodingdean, Brighton.

The Rev Dr James Hawkey, 39, Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey and a chaplain to the Queen.

Nick Stace, 47, chief executive officer of the Prince’s Trust, who was educated at Patcham Fawcett High School and Bhasvic.

Michael Sheldon, 59, a member of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board and chairman of the Pork Board.

Judge Amanda Kelly, 45, a district judge at Westminster Magistrates Court, who was educated at Brighton and Hove High School and Lancing College.

Sarah Lambert QC, 47, a barrister and recorder who this year was made a Queen’s Counsel and who was educated at Brighton and Hove High School.

Debra Powell QC, 47, who this year was made a recorder, and who was educated at Brighton and Hove High School.

These Brighton people will join, among others, Pope Francis, US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who are already in Who’s Who.

Everyone in the book is invited to compile his or her own entry, so entries can be as long or as short as personalities wish.

The 2019 edition of Who’s Who is published by A & C Black at £325.
