A LETTINGS firm has run a food bank in Hove to help homeless people.

Purplebricks Lettings, based in Brighton, organised the food bank in Tesco Express, Denmark Villas, Hove.

All the proceeds, mainly food products, were taken to The Clock Tower Sanctuary, a charity which support homeless young people in the city.

The team set up at the store from 4pm until 7.20pm and within the first hour further boxes were required to store the items.

A spokesman said at the end of the project there was “a real sense of satisfaction from a job well done”.

The team has also been running a competition and fundraising for The Dogs Trust.

They made a home for themselves at Haskins Garden Centre, Angmering for the day with further collection tins, and ran a competition to draw the best dog possible in 30 seconds.

Although mainly aimed for children, a few adult entries were accounted for.

The Lettings teamsaid it was grateful for everyone’s generosity.
