Vice principal Nick Fenn said: “We are delighted to say that we’ve just had the best academic results in our history, significantly above national and local results, with the most positive feedback from our students ever.

“The message is clear: in all probability if you come to PACA Adult Learning, you will love it, you will improve your confidence and you will achieve your qualification or your personal aspirations so you can advance to where you want to be.”

Feedback figures from students showed:

l 93 per cent thought their course was outstanding or good

l 93 per cent reported outstanding or good enjoyment levels

l 83 per cent said it improved their sense of wellbeing.

The adult learning college provides a range of courses for academic studies and personal interest topics such as yoga, languages or search engine optimisation.

It also runs access courses which enable learners to return to education and get the results they need to apply to universities.

Mr Fenn said: “We place teaching, learning and the support of students at the heart of what we do.

“This results in wraparound support from the moment students make that first call to us to the support they receive after achieving their qualification.

“Our teachers and administrators are relentless in their quest to provide outstanding teaching, learning and support for all, no matter what your background.

“We are very proud.”

James Pike, a former access to social science student at PACA Adult Learning, is now studying economics at the University of Bath which is rated in the top ten per cent of universities in the country.

He said: “In my first semester results, I’ve achieved strong firsts within all my modules and I also proofread a few of my peers’ essays, picking up on their mistakes – something I never imagined two years ago.

“I have defied huge odds and have been accepted for a summer internship within a major UK investment bank, something I am very excited about.

“I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved so far at university.”

PACA Adult Learning is now enrolling for 2019.
