EMGERGENCY services were called to a car fire which damaged two other vehicles and two houses.

Fire engines from Brighton, Roedean and Newhaven were dispatched to Dorothy Avenue, Peacehaven at about 12.55am this morning.

One car, parked on the driveway, was on fire and the flames damaged two other vehicles and two homes. The area was cordoned off by Sussex Police.

A spokeswoman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used one breathing apparatus and two high pressure hose reels to extinguish the flames.

“They carried out a home safety visit and an investigation is due to take place today.”
