A DRIVER and two pedestrians have been taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a crash.
The collision took place just outside the Three Fishes Pub in Chapel Road, Worthing, at about 5.20pm.
One of the pedestrians suffered serious head injuries and has been taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in an ambulance.
The other pedestrian and the driver have been taken to Worthing Hospital with less severe injuries.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to attend Chapel Road in Worthing where there was a collision between two pedestrians and a car.
"There are a total of three patients, two which are said to be pedestrians and the other a driver.
"The most seriously injured, one of the pedestrians, has been taken to Royal Sussex County hospital with serious head injuries.
"The other two were less seriously injured and have been taken to Worthing Hospital."
A police spokeswoman said: "Sussex Police have been called to a road traffic collision between a car and two pedestrians which occurred about 5.20pm on Thursday in Chapel Road, Worthing.
"The pedestrians, a man and a woman, and the driver of the car are all believed to have suffered serious injuries.
"The road is currently closed and emergency services are at the scene."
