AN ELDERLY man and woman have suffered serious injuries after a crash outside a pub.
An 89-year-old woman crashed outside Three Fishes in Chapel Road, Worthing yesterday at about 5.20pm.
Two elderly pedestrians were hit and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 73-year-old man sustained multiple fractures, cuts and bruising, and a 74-year-old woman suffered a fractured spine. Both are being treated in Royal County Sussex Hospital and their next of kin have been informed.
The driver who had been driving a blue Honda Jazz, was treated at Worthing Hospital for shock.
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating a collision outside the Three Fishes pub in Chapel Road, Worthing, at 5.20pm yesterday which involved two people on foot and a car. An 89-year woman from West Worthing, who had been driving a blue Honda Jazz, was treated at Worthing Hospital for shock.
“The pedestrians, both from West Tarring, have been detained for treatment at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with serious injuries.
A 73-year-old man sustained multiple fractures, cuts and bruising, and a 74-year-old woman suffered a fractured spine.”
