POLICE are looking for witnesses to a serious car crash.
A red Citroen C4, driven by a 47-year-old local man, and a red Vauxhall Corsa, driven by a 44-year-old woman from East Grinstead, crashed head-on and both drivers were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The man suffered chest injuries and the woman suffered suspected multiple fractures.
Firefighters attended and released the casualties from their vehicles.
The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance provided medical assistance.
The accident happened at the junction of the A273 Jane Murray Way, Burgess Hill, shortly after 6pm on Friday.
The road was closed in both directions while the incident was dealt with.
