A TENT set up one metre from a cliff edge has been removed.
The tent, along with personal belongings including a Sports Direct bag, was recovered from the cliff top near Brighton Marina today and taken to Brighton police station.
Newhaven Coastguard was called to help police officers recover the items.
Members of the Coastguard team were hooked to a rope attached to the ground for safety reasons as they picked up the items.
They said they acted because anyone trying to retrieve the items would have been in danger.
They urged people to stay well clear of cliff edges at all times.
