A YOUNG war hero was remembered for his bravery during World War One on Sunday.
A short service was held around the grave of Second Lieutenant David Dennys Fowler in St Margaret’s Churchyard, Rottingdean. He was killed in action while flying on a mission from Telscombe Airdrome in 1917 aged 19.
The service, right, was attended by David’s nephew and niece, members of Rottingdean British Legion and Harry Sheppard, 14, who read a poem he had written and a biography.
The British Legion presented a large poppy which had been part of the centenary display on the village green in Mr Fowler’s honour.
