A VIOLENT yob was caught on camera headbutting a car in a bizarre late-night attack.

CCTV footage captured the moment a vandal appeared to aim a kick at the front of the blue Mazda before pounding a window twice with his forehead.

The car’s owner, Richard Harding, released the footage after finding a large dent in his car at about 10.30pm on Friday.

Mr Harding, of George V Avenue in Worthing, said he was “appalled and disappointed”.

The 52-year-old said: “The car’s not worth a fortune and I’m pleased it wasn’t my new van.”

He saw the group earlier and noticed they drew rude pictures in the ice on the car.

He said: “I thought, they’re kids so that’s fair enough, but then they came back and purposefully kicked and headbutted my car and I thought, really?”

The attack started with a swift kick to the car’s bumper by one of the group.

The Argus:

The vandal then appears to repeatedly headbutt and kick the car’s rear passenger side door.

He then follows this up with a punch to another car parked nearby.

Mr Harding has described the incident as “ridiculous”.

He said: “If that was my kids I would like to know that they were getting up to this.

“Where’s the discipline gone today?

“We never did anything like this when I was young.

“Of course, let kids be kids, but it has to stop somewhere.”

Mr Harding has worked as a plumbing and heating engineer for 28 years.

He said over that time his van has been broken into seven times – including twice from outside his house.

Mr Harding installed CCTV six month ago to catch thieves breaking into his van parked his driveway.

But instead he caught the vandals attacking his car parked on the street.

He said he was grateful for the support he has received online after posting the footage.

He said people had come forward and offered to fix his car for free.

Mr Harding said: “I was in awe of the amount of support from Facebook.

“It just goes to show and how powerful social media is.”

Sussex Police said: “Police are aware of an incident in which three youths and a girl were seen to be
