A MENTAL health recovery college is hosting an open day today to launch new courses and workshops

The Brighton and Hove Recovery College is staging the event from 11am until 3pm at the Brighthelm Centre in North Road in Brighton.

It will share information about the free courses and workshops on offer from February to April.

It is a chance for prospective students to talk to the Recovery College team about how courses can support their mental health recovery.

There is a week’s registration window from today after which the college will allocate places and notify students.

Lynsey Hermann, manager of the Brighton and Hove Recovery College at Southdown, said: “Whether you are a returning student or new to the college, there’s something for everyone in the wide range of courses we offer.

“This term will see a return of the popular courses, recovery and discovery through art, personality disorder and ten power tools for happiness.

“Alongside our regular courses, you will see new and exciting courses, such as Being in the Body. The course allows students to gain a deeper insight into the body and use practices to support their confidence and wellbeing.

“We provide a supportive learning environment where students can share experiences and ideas in confidence.”
