A PHOTOGRAPHY exhibition will show six brave women who have faced violence, assault and abuse.
The display, organised by the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner and Safe: Space Sussex will open at the Jubilee Library in Brighton on January 14.
With the help of the support services, the women have been able to face their fears and return to doing normal everyday activities that they previously had feared.
The exhibition celebrates services funded by the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner to help victims.
One woman included is domestic abuse sufferer Norma, who got help from Action on Elder Abuse, after her partner was jealous of her singing.
Katy Bourne will officially open the exhibition, and praised the women for sharing their stories and said they are a testament to the positive work of specialist support services.
She said: “Victims of crime often do not feel they have the freedom or self-confidence to go back to their own normality after what has happened to them.”
