SHOPS have been warned about young men using counterfeit cash.

Three men used fake £50 notes three times in 40 minutes in Seaford and Lewes on Wednesday night, January 16.

They bought small items and left with the change.

The first incident was at 7.30pm at a pub in Dane Road, Seaford, the second at a takeaway in Sutton Park Road, also Seaford, at 7.40pm.

The third took place at 8.05pm at the Tesco store in Brooks Road, Lewes.

The men are all in their early 20s and slim, with European or Irish accents.

Sussex Police have warned people to be vigilant and check notes carefully.

They have asked anyone with information to contact them online quoting serial 1163 of 16/01.
