A FARMER is looking at installing a burglar alarm after vandals keep breaking into his animal park - filled with llamas.

Bobby Schuck, who lives at The Llama Park in the Ashdown Forest, said his family were left frightened and upset after the brazen burglars raided his offices - and spray-painted their gang name on the wall of his llama pen.

Owner Bobby has since been in touch with local businesses in a bid to form a crime buster group, in a bid to prevent future incidents - which he fears would be alarming to his llamas.

The park is home to more than a dozen llamas, including one named Barney, as well as alpacas, reindeer and other animals.

Bobby, from Wych Cross near , said: “It has been very disturbing - it has taken us quite a while to get over it emotionally and everybody is very upset.

“Staff are frightened, my family who live here are frightened and neighbours who I have spoken to are frightened.

“Around here everybody has got a garden, everybody has got garden sheds.

“Naturally all the businesses that have been burgled have been feeling very vulnerable.

Bobby’s llama park in Ashdown Forest was burgled in the early hours of the morning two weeks ago.

The crooks branded the park with their graffiti tag ‘Bev Gang’ and made off with a number of items, including gardening equipment, a chainsaw, a strimmer, and a safe.

They also destroyed the park’s internet server when they mistook internet cables for CCTV and ripped the wires out.

It comes after a string of burglars that have taken place in the area including at nearby hotels and a pub.

Bobby said: “We came to work and found one of our emergency doors smashed in.

“As you can see here they’ve left their trade mark the ‘Bev Gang.’ “We were part of a series of burglars taking place in this area.

“They are a nuisance - they are causing a lot of trouble and they deserve to be put behind bars.”

Sussex Police officers believe the graffiti tag is linked to another incident which took place several miles away between Christmas and New Year when a quad bike was stolen.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “A quantity of money and IT equipment were reported as stolen.

“The graffiti tag is believed to be linked to another incident in Hammingden Lane, Highbrook near Ardingly on December 29, where a quad bike was also stolen.”
