A TEENAGER has been arrested following a robbery at a post office.

Officers executed a warrant at an address in Moulsecoomb and arrested the 17-year-old boy on suspicion of taking part in the robbery at the Lower Bevendean Post Office in Leybourne Parade, last Wednesday, at 7.25pm.

Cigarettes and a quantity of cash were taken in the knifepoint robbery.

A staff member, a 35-year-old man, was punched to the face and stabbed in the leg twice, was treated the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, for his injuries.

After being interviewed, the boy was released on police bail until February 16 while enquiries continue.
