A HALF-NAKED woman kicked a police officer and spat in her face after a foul-mouthed rant.

Hollie Bosworth was released on licence from prison and was under the influence of alcohol when police were called to an address in White Styles Road in Lancing late at night.

Officers feared a domestic violence incident, but a man there apologised and sent them away.

When they returned, 23-year-old Bosworth kicked an officer in the chest and launched a foul-mouthed tirade while in a “state of undress”.

She then spat at one of the officers who had put her under arrest.

Her solicitor said she has had a difficult upbringing, and felt vulnerable in front of a the man because she has post-traumatic stress from being raped as a child.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court she admitted two assaults on police officers, and was ordered to pay £25 in compensation to each PC.

Gaynor Byng, prosecuting, said the drama happened on December 23 last year.

She said: “Officers were first called before midnight. A man at the address apologised for her behaviour.

“But they were called again 2am and had to re-enter the property. Bosworth was arrested.

Following that she tried to use a landline phone. She refused to be restrained by officers and became violent.

“She referred to the police officers as c**** and told them to f*** off.

“Officers successfully restrained Bosworth but was then kicked to the chest and legs and was further arrested. At which point she said: ‘You wait until custody you f****** slag.’

“She then looked directly at the officer and spat at them.”

Bosworth has 46 previous convictions, and had only been out of Lewes Prison for about a month before the incident.

Tony Day, defending, said that while police had been called earlier in the evening to an alleged affray, there was no evidence of any impropriety.

He said: “She apologises for her actions, she was in a state of undress at the time, and seen by a male officer.”

Mr Day said Bosworth had been raped as a child and suffered post-traumatic stress disorder from her difficult background.

“She reacted to the male officer present because she just wanted to put some clothes on, due to what happened to her as a child,” he said.

“Her record is not good, but she is really trying to move forward.”

Magistrate Victoria Willetts ordered Bosworth, of Halewick Lane in Sompting, to complete 25 rehabilitation activity days within the next year and pay the compensation.

She must also pay £85 in court costs which will be taken from her benefits. Her outstanding debt to the court system was £2,112.30.
