A GROUP of showmen got dressed in uniform in the chilly January weather to promote their new show.

The cast of The Full Monty gave a teaser of what the show at the Theatre Royal offers as they gathered in the box office to promote the current tour which is on at the Brighton venue now and runs until January 26.

Based on the smash hit film and adapted for the stage, The Full Monty tells the story of steelworkers from Sheffield who decide to form one of Britain’s most popular shows.

Led by Noughties heart-throb and former Hollyoaks and EastEnders star Gary Lucy, the cast gave our cameras a preview of what to expect before last night’s opening performance.

“It’s two hours of escapism,” said Gary, who plays Gaz and offered to show co-star Joe Gill around the city.

“I’ve never been to Brighton before,” Joe added.

“You’ll come out of the show in a terrific mood with a big smile on your face.”

If you needed any more reason to go along and see the show then for Gary Lucy the answer is simple.

He added: “Come and see some willies.”

The Full Monty is Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy’s first work for the theatre.

Prior to this he had also worked on well-known blockbuster movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, Battle of the Sexes and the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.

The Full Monty runs at Brighton Theatre Royal until Saturday, January 26.
