A SUPERCAR event is coming to Sussex this year.

Goodwood has been announced as the new venue for the celebration of some of the fastest motor cars in the world.

The speed extravaganza, simply entitled The Supercar Event, takes place at Goodwood, near Chichester, West Sussex, on Saturday, June 1.

The event will offer car fanatics the chance to ride in some of the world’s most impressive supercars, with money raised going to The Children’s Trust, a charity which helps children who have suffered brain injuries.

More than 150 supercars will descend upon Goodwood’s historic motor circuit for the day.

Some of the cars that will be in attendance on the day include the Lamborghini Aventador S, Ferrari 488 and the McLaren 675 LT, as well as many more.

In addition, there will be helicopter rides available and younger guests can also have their first driving experience with the Stay Safe Driving School for ages 14 and over.

Tracy Poulton, fundraising manager at The Children’s Trust said: “Hundreds of supercars, lots of activities and an army of dedicated volunteers make it one of our biggest fundraising events of the year.

“We’re looking forward to hosting it at the Goodwood motor circuit.”

“It’s one of our biggest events of the year.

“We have to raise eight million pounds a year for the trust so all the money raised on the day will go into that pot.

“It will all go into outings for the children, updating our buildings and equipment and helping us continue to improve lives.”

Every year 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and many have to live with ongoing, long-term difficulties.

The Children’s Trust gives children and young people with brain injury and neuro disability opportunities to live the best life possible, by providing specialist rehabilitation, education and community services across the United Kingdom.

Tickets for The Supercar Event are on sale now and cost £12 for adults and £8 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children aged four-16) costs £30.
