INTERNATIONAL soul and hip-hop star Lauryn Hill has been confirmed as the headline act at a leading Sussex music festival.

Hill will close out the Love Supreme Jazz Festival, performing last on the Sunday night.

Love Supreme takes place at Glynde Place, Lewes, between Friday July 5 and Sunday July 7.

A former member of The Fugees, the Nineties soul band famous for songs like Killing Me Softly With His Song and Ready or Not, she is best known for her soulful vocals.

Her solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, shot her to fame as a solo artist.

She has gone on to win a number of top awards and broken several sales records.

Love Supreme director Ciro Romano said: “Lauryn Hill is someone who’s always featured at the top of our wish list. She’s an uncompromising innovator who has had such an enormous impact on the development of contemporary music.

“The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill has truly stood the test of time and we’re all very excited to be hosting her at this year’s festival.”

Hill joins Gladys Knight, Chick Corea, Jamie Cullum, Snarky Puppy, Kamaal Williams and Madeleine Peyroux in the line-up for Love Supreme, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
