AN ELDERLY pedestrian has died from his injuries after being hit by a reversing car.
Police were called to Meridian Way in Peacehaven on Thursday last week after an 87-year-old man was hurt.
The accident was reported outside the medical centre there shortly before 2pm
Paramedics took the man to the Royal Sussex County Hospital because he had suffered "serious injuries", he was then transferred to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
Sadly he died on Saturday.
The reversing Toyota Avensis was being driven by an 85-year-old man from Telscombe Cliffs, and had a 74-year-old passenger.
Neither were injured.
Police said they are looking for witnesses after the death and have appealed for people to come forward.
The coroner has been informed and has opened a file. Meanwhile anyone who saw it or who has dashboard camera footage is asked to report it online or call 101 and quote Operation Northern.
