WE could be hit by heavy snow this week.
The Met Office has issued a weather warning and says snow may fall overnight on Tuesday.
It says: “On Tuesday there is perhaps widespread overnight snow into Wednesday.
“It will be fine again later Wednesday and into Thursday, possibly rain and snow later.”
Areas in the north of Sussex are most likely to be affected by the snow, which is expected to fall between 9pm on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
The Met Office has said there is a small chance of travel delays on the roads, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
It said: “A band of rain pushing east across parts of England is likely to turn to snow during Tuesday evening, with snow continuing into Wednesday.
“Accumulations of one-three cm are likely quite widely, with accumulations of five cm in places.
“There is a small chance that some areas could see up to ten cm, more especially over the higher ground.”
On Saturday we reported that the NHS is urging residents to look after themselves after the Met Office issued a cold weather alert for Brighton in the next few days.
Doctors say it could have an impact on vulnerable residents and put further pressure on health services.
Colder weather brings illnesses and ailments such as flu, which can also cause great pressure on health services.
