The sky over Sussex is bewitching during the cold winter months, this makes the cold strolls more special. Winters a time of year that many stay curled up by the fire rather than to explore the magnificent countryside and watch the sunset and rise over the Downs.

The best places to observe the arrival and departure of natures clock is Devils Dyke and Chanctonbury Ring, but don't be discouraged, you don't have to go so far to enjoy these events. Twilight is what you should relish in, the time between dawn and sunrise, and sunset and dusk, these times are when Starling murmurations can be sighted or the hooting of Tawny owls on the edge of towns or villages.

With the recent forecasts of heavy snow in parts of West Sussex may residents have their hopes up.

“The sky has a look to it as if it’s going to snow, you can feel the anticipation as everyone looks up hoping to see if it falls”- Meghan, Worthing.

With the snow fluttering down as we speak, or write we will have to see if the snow will settle and the consequences both positive and negative that will arise when we look outside tomorrow, some may even take an early stroll to observe nature and how it thrives in such harsh conditions.
