Tears For Fears

It may well be true that Everybody Wants to Rule the World and in the case of Tears for Fears there was a period in the Eighties when they most certainly did that.

With some fantastic pop tunes and an ability to get crowds in rampant singalong mode it will certainly be a show to see when they hit Brighton.

Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, the pair who make up the band, split in the 1990s but since their early Noughties reformation they have been as popular as ever and that is backed up by the fact that they are able to sell out arenas across the country.

Imran Yusuf

Komedia, Brighton, Monday, February 4

Well-known for his high-energy performances, seeing Imran Yusuf perform is nothing short of uplifting.

The Kenyan-born, British-raised, stand-up is certainly a world traveller and has used that experience to form his comedy show.

Taking in the comedy values embedded in so many cultural backgrounds, Yusuf is a comic who represents many of the values that are shared in our country.

Switching styles almost seemlessly, this comedian is worth checking out.

Hancock’s Half Hour

In the Fifties Tony Hancock burst onto the radio with a light-hearted and comedic show that captured the hearts of the nation.

With a cast that included the likes of Sid James, Hattie Jacques and Kenneth Williams, Hancock’s Half Hour was the show that spawned what we now know as the classic sitcom.

Since then the show has taken on a legendary status and has been remade in numerous instances.

Now you can see it return to the stage with a cast who want to recapture the magic of the show and recreate it in the best way possible.

Krater Comedy Club

The Krater Comedy Club is one of the most well-known weekly event nights in Brighton.

Packing the Komedia out with laughs, the evening lines up some of the country’s finest up-and-coming comedians and gives them a platform to shine.

With plenty of tables and some great comedy acts this is a brilliant way to spend a Friday night.

This week sees resident compere Stephen Grant take to the stage with the likes of Damian Grant, Charlie Baker and Jake Lambert.
