TRAIN services have sent out a reminder that transport will be limited for nine days during half term.

From Saturday to February 24, the train lines between Three Bridges and Brighton and Three Bridges and Lewes will be closed.

This is due to major works to improve reliability and punctuality of the Brighton Mainline.

Train users are advised to check the timetable before travelling before this period.

Other weekends affected by the ongoing works include:

l March 2 and 3

l March 24 and 25

l March 30 and 31

l April 6 and 7

Between March 7 and 10, all routes via Lewes will be closed and bus replacement services will be in place.

On Sunday, March 17, train lines via Lewes will also be closed.

On Sunday, May 5, there will be early closures between 1.20am until 9.30am for the lines between Three Bridges and Brighton and Three Bridges and Lewes.

South Eastern Railway posted a reminder online saying: “Improvement works on the Brighton Mainline mean there are no trains from Hastings to Gatwick Airport from February 16 to 24.

“Hastings Line passengers may wish to travel to Gatwick Airport via Tonbridge.”
