IF YOU are looking for the most romantic location to spend Valentine’s Day this year then Brighton is the place to be.
The city has made it into the top five for the best date nights in the country.
York has topped the list with Reading, Manchester and Nottingham also sitting between Brighton and the top spot.
The survey by care.com, a website that helps families with child care, took into account factors such as restaurants, shops and romantic walks, as well as how easy it is to get a babysitter.
So with Valentine’s Day approaching, here is a list of the best places for romance in Brighton.
A walk along the seafront
This is the most cliche option so it is best to get it out of the way early.
But just because it is an overdone concept doesn’t mean it isn’t romantic.
There are few better places in this city than the seafront at night, just as the sun sets.
Be sure to wrap up warm, but remember the chilly weather is the perfect excuse for hand-holding.
The i360
Speaking of seeing the sunset, it may look great from the ground but imagine how it will look when you are 500ft in the air. With spectacular views across Brighton, and relative intimacy depending on what time you decide to go up, the i360 is a sky high Valentine’s date.
A trip to the marina
With plenty to do in a small area, the marina is a great place to take a date.
You can cosy up with each other in the cinema or get a bit more competitive with some bowling. There is plenty of choice when it comes to eating too, from fancy to fast food – whatever you fancy is covered.
Sea Life Brighton
If you or your significant other love marine life then a trip to Britain’s oldest aquarium is a fantastic date idea.
You can explore the lives of some of the most incredible sea creatures and take in the majesty of what lies just beyond our shores.
Classy cocktails
If you fancy a drink, either before or after dinner, and want to make it special then there are some brilliant cocktail bars in Brighton that are worth a visit.
Gung Ho, The Salt Room and The Mesmerist are great places for a drink.
If you fancy more elegant hotel surroundings then try The Grand, Metropole or Malmaison.
Something arty
With a great museum and art gallery in Brighton this is a good date for any art lovers out there.
There are some great exhibitions at the museum and with the Royal Pavilion right next door why not take your special someone out for a day of culture in the city.
Out on the town
This is a good option for those with dates or anyone who finds themselves dateless this Valentine’s Day.
Why not try a club such as Pryzm or Walkabout for a night of dancing.
