A MAN hit a woman with a pole leaving her semi-conscious.

At 8.50am on Saturday the man climbed into the garden of a house in Jackdaw Close, Crawley, and struck the 28-year-old woman as she came outside to see what was happening.

After this, he went into the house and searched it before leaving, and it is not known if anything was taken.

The woman had a slight cut to her head but declined medical treatment.

Police in Crawley have issued an Efit of the suspect, who is white, in his forties, of stocky build and more than 6 foot tall, with a thick neck and short thick dark blond greying hair.

He wore dark clothing.
