Once again we journey back 20 years to see what was happening in The Argus in 1999. In today’s Timeout we have a girl who claimed a huge reward for returning a lost cat, a wheelchair-bound marathon man and a February sunbather.
We start with some very enthusiastic pancake flippers in George Street, Hove, taking part in the annual traders’ race.
Steve Goldthorpe, manager of Brydens DIY shop at the Seven Dials takes part in the George Street traders’ pancake race
Do you recognise any of the competitors?
Next we met John Stone, from Saltdean, who took in the winter sun under a spot at the cliffs near Ovingdean
John’s little hut is the prime place to soak up the rays and then dash inside when the inevitable rain comes
Ann Carpenter won big on the lottery but put it all up as a reward when her cat Baggins went missing. Alexandra Mitchell found the cat and scooped the huge pile of cash
And finally Bill Bailey may be in a wheelchair but took part in several marathons
He was looking for people to push him in his latest race
